Female Journalist Makeup by Stefanie Kemp

What not to expect on set *
What to Expect when your expecting has some of the hottest female actresses starring in it, but not in their usual slim, trim ways, oh no. Slapping on fake breasts, bellies, thighs and eating lots of pies they really have a glow of mother hood about them, or could that be that they were filming in 40oC heat?
Prosthetics are precious at the best of times, the actresses looked to be taking their roles extremely seriously as the baby bumps began to slide out of their tops, btu no it was not some miracle birth of silicone it was simply heat, makeup and gravity working harmoniously together.
Director James Kirk had the toughest job of all the crew “I was invited to go into a tent and look at Cameron Diaz’s breasts. It was a really busy day, and I was tapped on the shoulder I asked to do that. When I say breasts, I mean prosthetic breasts. A lot of the girls had prosthetic breasts and tummies,” he told FOX411’s Pop Tarts column at the film’s premiere this week. “Pretty much every day I had to go and look at them and make sure they were up to scratch, and Cameron’s really were up to scratch.”
No spitting his dummy out of the crib on these occasions. Having dreaded seeing skinny celebs having a 9 month old stomach sticking out of their twig like frame I am eager to see how these babies work out.

Pass me the penis and the pros aid please*
The makeup artists role is never straight forward, especially in the world of prosthetics. From arms, to legs, fingers to toes we are asked to create and apply all manner of weird and wonderful limbs. Having a conversation about this with a friend we joked about the day we may have to do a makeup beyond the norm, this one, takes the penis…I mean biscuit!

When Chloë Sevigny’s agents called her last year to say they had received a new script for her to consider, they were unusually coy about the details. “They said, ‘It’s really wild. We just think you should read it,’” Sevigny tells me when we meet in London. “So I did, and I was like, ‘This is insane. I have to do it.’”

Weeks later, the 37-year-old American actress was on set in Manchester, quietly weeping and wondering what she’d done, while a make-up artist hovered over her crotch, carefully fitting a prosthetic penis.

Created by Paul Abbott, the Bafta-winning writer behind State of Play and Shameless, Hit & Miss is a new television miniseries with the most extraordinary premise. Sevigny plays Mia, a preoperative male-to-female transsexual who works, with cool efficiency, as a contract killer.
She said: “I cried every day when they put it on. I felt very exposed… having people so close to your personal parts anyway, who you’re not sleeping with, for an hour and a half each day.”
Lets just hope the series isn’t a flop and stands up to the test of time. Too many puns for a monday morning but Slapping on a penis, thats genius!
